INTRODUCTION TO SELF-PUBLISHING     

The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the self-publishing process. Course topics will address the nitty-gritty of “What a Publisher Does” (editing, formatting, the copyright page, selecting the publishing platform, marketing, cover selection, uploading, pricing/royalties and reviews). As a publisher of your own work, you will be faced with many choices; Various pros and cons will be discussed (as time permits). The subject matter of this course is equally applicable to both fiction and non-fiction works. THIS IS NOT A WRITING COURSE. This is a “How To” course.

Writing Memoires: Capturing The Stories Of Your Life     

If you would like to write for a living—or as a side gig to make extra cash—this course will walk you through on how to get your first writing assignments plus how to build a plan to help you reach your writing goals. Taught by Kelly Boyer Sagert who is a full-time freelance writer. She has published 18 books and has been commissioned to write numerous plays. One script was used as the basis of Trail Magic: The Grandma Gatewood Story, a documentary that appeared on PBS; was nominated for an Emmy Award; and won a prestigious Chagrin Documentary Film Festival Award.
